New film enhancer and rheology modifier for coatings derived from root crops

CelluComp is a dynamic material science company based in Scotland that develops high performance products based on sustainable resources. Company discovered the exceptional opportunities offered by materials produced from non-hydrocarbon feed-stocks. With this in mind, its vision is to create material change for good. CelluComp was founded by expert material scientists Dr. David Hepworth and Dr. Eric Whale. In 2007 they combined their knowledge of cellulosic materials and passion for sustainability to develop its first generation of their product, Curran~R. The first successful application of the product was in composites in the form of an award winning fishing rod. This application made full use of the unique strength and stiffness of the nano-cellulose based fibres.
