摘要

An approach is suggested for estimating contributions of different origin to the boson-peak intensity for glasses of diverse types. The approach is based on established relationships for pressure-induced changes in the boson-peak characteristics, which are different for contributions due to sound-wave-like modes or localized soft-mode vibrations, and on their comparison to appropriate experimental data at moderately high pressures.
