Intrinsic localized modes in nonlinear photonic crystal waveguides: Dispersive modes

A discussion is given of the theory of intrinsic localized modes (ILM) for nonlinear waveguide impurities in photonic crystals. Particular attention is made to the determination of the dispersion relation of propagating ILM modes. Both even- and odd-parity ILM modes are considered.
