摘要

In this Letter an approximate analytic method was described. The method was used to analyze the band gaps of holographic photonic crystals, having sinusoidal periodic structure. The results obtained were compared with those obtained from the analysis by plane wave expansion method. It shows that the method suggested is suitable for analyzing the photonic crystals having non-step function periodic structure. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. [References: 17]
