The competitive situation in the railway branch requires a high vehicle availability. This can be increased by short downtimes into the workshops and fast disturbance remedying of the maintenance departments. Planned vehicle downtime in workshops must be reduced by an extensive task planning inclusive of the capacity and material planning on a temporal minimum. Unplanned interruptions must if possible be cleared without bringing the vehicle to the workshop. To this a mobile workshop service must fast and competently be able to execute the repair ,,in the track". Both areas of responsibility can be supported economically with computerized maintenance management systems, which avoid discontinuity of media. Is there in addition a special focus on user-friendliness for all involved enterprise areas, than one will get the necessary acceptance of all employees.
