XRL expedites Hong Kong's fresh ties with China

Under construction in Hong Kong is a high-speed line that will link the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to cities in China's mainland. The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL) will link Hong Kong to Ranyu, Guangzhou and Guangdong. In reinforcing social and economic ties between the two regions, the project is of vital importance to Hong Kong and will strengthen its status as the southern gateway to mainland China.
