Ranger

The ADS 95 Ranger is joint development effort of Ruag Aerospace (formerly Contraves-Oerlikon) and Israel Aircraft Industry's Malat UAV division aimed at fulfilling a Swiss Army requirement. The system's official name is ADS 95 Ranger (Aufklarungs Drohnen System). The Ranger air vehicle is patterned after Israeli UAVs such as the Scout, suitably modified for use in the Swiss environment. The Swiss army has a requirement for five systems, and in 1995 received a contract for 28 UAVs. The first complete Ranger system will be delivered in mid-1998, and deliveries took place through 2000.
