Arrow (Chetz)

The Arrow (Chetz in Hebrew) is an anti-tactical ballistic missile (ATBM) developed in Israel for medium- to high-altitude intercepts against short- and medium-range ballistic missiles. It is being developed along with associated early warning radars, fire control radars, and a battle management system under the project name HOMA (Fence). The Arrow missile was originally intended to counter the threat posed to Israel by Syria's Soviet-supplied SS-lc Scud B and SS-21 Scarab missiles. Subsequent upgrades have been intended to deal with ballistic missile threats from Iran. The program has been supported by US funding.
