This report focuses on Russian air-to-air missiles (AAM) which are currently being exported as well as related sales from former Soviet plants now in Ukraine. Three of these missiles are likely to be the predominate types in the export category. The R-73 (AA-11 Archer) is a new generation short-range AAM comparable to the ASRAAM in performance. The R-27 (AA-10 Alamo) is a family of medium range missiles comparable to the Sparrow. The R-77 (AA-12) is an advanced medium-range AAM comparable to the AIM-120 AMRAAM.
