Meet in Africa - changing perceptions of a continent

After only two events, the biennial 'Meet in Africa' series has every chance of becoming firmly established as a permanent part of the international leather trade calendar, having taken on a significance that to some may seem out of all proportion to its size and funding. Aimed at bringing far higher levels of the African continents raw, semi-finished and finished leather goods to the international marketplace, the concept was the outcome of work carried out in the mid-1990s by Ron Sauer of The International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/WTO) and the French exhibition organisers, Semaine International du Cuir.
