Signs of recovery but industry asks for help

Generally speaking, the Indonesian economy is still not in good shape but there have been signs of recovery of late. Despite the economic fall-out from the Bali bomb, the improving macroeconomic situation means inflation is currently hovering around the 10.5% mark - just above the government target of 9%. Combined with the new found stability seen in the Rupiah, this has so far succeeded in persuading overseas investors to stay put, though the situation naturally remains jittery in the wake of the bombing.
