The Presidium of the Russian Supreme Arbitration Court has handed down its ruling in a case involving a trademark dispute between Swiss businesses and an offshore entity. In Ruling No. VAS-16912/11, dated April 24, the Presidium gave its decision on Case No. A40-73286/2010-143-625. The trademark VACHERON CONSTANTIN was registered in 2004 in Russia for the purposes of clothing and footwear production by Tessir Partners Ltd, a company registered in British Virgin Islands. In 2010, Swiss companies, Richemont International, SA and Vacheron & Constantin, SA, requested the Russian intellectual property office Rospatent to annul the Russian registration of the VACHERON CONSTANTIN mark.
