As of June 23, 2014, under the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)'s process for new generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs), 315 TLDs have been delegated into the root, including 29 Internationalised Domain Names (IDNs). Domain name registration by the general public is currently available under more than a hundred new gTLDs and since the first new gTLD started offering domain name registrations in November 2013, the number of domain name registrations has slowly been growing. At the time of writing the number of domain name registrations under new gTLDs is now over 1,280,000.
