Federal Court of Canada has No Jurisdiction Over Contractual Patent Ownership Dispute

The Federal Court of Canada ruled it doesn't have the authority to wade into a contractual dispute over the assignment of a patent covering a method of improved landfill mining (Salt Canada Inc. v. Baker, No. T-1620-15, EC. Can., 7/20/16). On July 20, 2016, the court refused SALT Canada Inc.'s application to the court, requesting that the records of the Patent Office be amended to list SALT as the owner of Canadian Patent 2,222,058.
