Crossing Industry Borders: German Manufacturers as Services Exporters

摘要

This paper analysed service export activities of German manufacturers at the firm level with data from the Balance of Payments Statistics provided by the Deutsche Bundesbank. Service exports of German manufacturers strongly increased in the first decade of this century and amounted to nearly 30 billion euros in 2005. However, service exports of manufacturing firms have hardly been analysed thus far in the international trade literature.
