La 3e ligne de tramway de Grenoble. Quand la plate-forme tramway doit passer sur des ouvrages d'art

As part of the construction of the third tramway line for the Grenoble urban area, five engineering structures had to be built to cross over the four main obstacles on the route, and to remove the "relics" of urban road construction dating from the 1960s. These structures, representing more than ?30 m in works, required the use of numerous building and construction industry techniques to enable the tramway subgrade to be added to the existing infrastructure. The old Catane bridge straddling the Drac river and the A480 motorway was reinforced and the longitudinal profile was altered. A new 280-metre composite bridge was built in parallel to maintain the road traffic lanes. At the other end of the line, a road crossing had to be dug in the water table, under the railway tracks and the future tramway track, incorporating a grade-separated roundabout to allow the development of a multimodal exchange pole. An asphalted girder bridge and a series of frames were also required, to cross over a county road and reserve the land requirements for the future town stadium. These large-scale works in highly urbanised areas were carried out in 30 months.%Dans le cadre de la construction de la 3e ligne de tramway de l'agglomération grenobloise, cinq ouvrages d'art ont dû être construits pour franchir les quatre principaux obstacles du tracé, et pour supprimer les "vestiges" des constructions routières urbaines des années 1960. Ces ouvrages, représentant plus de 30 M? de travaux, ont nécessité l'utilisation de nombreuses techniques du BTP, pour permettre d'ajouter aux infrastructures existantes la plateforme tramway. L'ancien pont de Catane, enjambant le Drac et l'A480 a été renforcé et le profil en long modifié. Un nouveau pont mixte de 280 m a été construit en parallèle pour maintenir les voies de circulation routières. A l'autre bout de la ligne, un passage routier a dû être creusé dans la nappe phréatique, sous les voies SNCF et la future voie du tramway, en intégrant un giratoire dénivelé pour permettre le développement d'un pôle d'échange multimodal. Un pont poutrelle enrobé et une série de cadres ont aussi été nécessaires, pour franchir une route départementale, et réserver les emprises du futur stade d'agglomération. Ces travaux d'envergure dans des zones fortement urbanisées ont été menés à bien en 30 mois.
