This polder is located at the level of the former Saint-Marc cove which, after the establishment of a surrounding dyke in the 1950s, was filled with the dredging products and, after 2003, with very heterogeneous filler earth. The works required treatment of the polluted filler-earth materials, stabilisation of the hydraulic backfills and marine alluvia by vertical drains, and soil preloading while optimising earth movements.
