U.S. Workboats, Senesco building offshore wind power support vessels

Two new U.S.-flag crew transfer vessels (CTVs) for the emerging East Coast offshore wind industry will be built for wind power developer 0rsted and offshore support services provider WindServe Marine LLC. To be built by U.S. Workboats, Hubert, N.C., and Senesco Marine, North Kingstown, R.I., the BMT Group-designed vessels will be the second and third in U.S. service, following the Atlantic Pioneer, built by Blount Boats, Warren, R.I., and servicing 0rsted's Block Island Wind Farm since 2016. U.S. Workboats will deliver its vessel to 0rsted's Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project, a pilot project with Dominion Energy for two 6-megawatt turbines, and then deployment to other Ørsted projects in the Northeast.
