摘要

Around the galley table on the Stevens Towing pushboat Island Lookout, four self-described regular guys expressed apprehension as they reflected on how they would respond to a woman joining the crew. "I would worry that I may come off as harsh or rude to a female," said Capt. Paulie Reagan. "I would definitely be concerned about my language," echoed mate Joel Brewer. "I think it could cause problems with my girlfriend, she knows that we live in close quarters," said deckhand Robert Edwards. Another deckhand, Patrick Rushing, put it simply, "I would feel like I had to work harder."
