Single-trip TWIC cards for mariners to debut in 2014

By the third quarter of next year, mariners should be able to get their TWIC cards with just a single visit to an enrollment center. The timeline is a year later than Congress intended, but the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) insists the changes couldn't be made any sooner. TSA also said that it is working on several customer service improvements. TSA's "OneVisit" initiative, allowing people to apply for and obtain a TWIC card with a single stop, began with a pilot program in Alaska in July.
