U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials pulled back an anticipated policy change to disallow transport of subsea oil equipment on foreign-flag vessels in the Gulf of Mexico. But domestic offshore operators are working to get the Trump administration on their side. "At a time when our administration is focused on 'putting America first' we believe that this administration will enforce the American rule of law and not let foreign companies be put first above American companies and workers," Aaron Smith, president and CEO of the Offshore Marine Service Association, said in an email.
