Bradford-based worsted weaver William Halstead - a member of the textile group SIL Holdings - has recently acquired Seagreen Ltd., specialists in the manufacture of quality flame retardant furnishing fabrics for contract, leisure and domestic use.rnEstablished in Galashiels in 1974 as Abbotsford Fabrics and now renamed Seagreen Ltd., all production is carried out on 18 dobby and 4 jacquard looms where wool is chiefly employed to meet the technical requirements of contract interiors and where decorative yarns and fibres are used to enhance design scope. Seagreen has enjoyed organic growth that has allowed the company to develop and maintain a brand presence in the market.
