Scottish cashmere manufacturer Johnstons of Elgin has registered with the Living Wage Foundation as of 1 July 2019, and will pay at least the Living Wage Foundation's real Living Wage of £9 per hour to all employees. This is higher than the UK's compulsory National Living Wage, which is currently £8.21 per hour for anyone aged 25 or over. Workers under the age of 25 receive the National Minimum Wage of £7.70 (ages 21 to 24) and £6.15 (ages 18 to 20).
