The Corinthian Yacht Club of Philadelphia sits at a wide stretch of the Delaware River and overlooks a cove just below Tinicum Island. On the opposite side of Tinicum Island, a shipping channel follows the New Jersey shoreline. It's a gentle coexistence of the recreational and industrial. The sheltered cove is kept open to recreational sailing, and it's a good place for racing small boats. There is a 2-knot tidal current, and one must be aware of the shoals, but there is enough room to set up the short courses that keep a Wednesday night series interesting.
