After reading about the restoration of the 34', 1929 Stephens Bros. cruiser MAKOTO in WB No. 232, Diana Holmes wrote from Petaluma, California, hoping to track down more information about the builder and designer of her family's power cruiser, PIED A MER, said to have been built in 1940 but believed to have been built earlier, perhaps as early as the 1920s. "She does have one very distinguishing thing and that is an arrow from bow to stern under the gunwales. The only boats I have seen with an arrow are Richardsons, but their fleet has nothing from before the late '20s and '30s and they do not resemble her at all. She may be from earlier than the '20s.
