DULGINEA, DEVA, and DIDDIKAI: A trio of double-ended cruisers drawn by L. Francis Herreshoff

In the 1930s, L. Francis Herreshoff designed three small, double-ended cruising ketches. None of them would be built until after the Great Depression—so although eventually a score of boats would be built to these three designs, when Francis needed the money most he would get none of the usual 10 percent commissions on construction costs, but rather just modest fees for the sale of plans.
