Enthalpy an dentropy of water sorbed by the sapwood and heartwood of five olocal softwoods were studied: western hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla), Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), western red cedar (Thuja plicata), sitka spruce (Picea sitchensios), and lodgepole pine (pinus contorta).
