Yet only recently was one created with side sleepers in mind. Instead of a perimeter zipper, Sierra Designs' backcountry bed has a hole in the top, kind of like a kayak. To keep you snuggly, an integrated comforter works just like the one back home: You pull it over your shoulders to keep warm instead of zipping yourself into a constrictive shape originally designed to keep dead bodies from falling apart. The two-season, down-filled model is good to 38 degrees Fahrenheit and weighs only 2 pounds. And don't worry about overwarm toes-there's an escape hatch at the bottom that you can poke your feet through to cool off in the night air.
