New Midwest Bridge: Combines Construction Styles to Create a Hybrid Structure

The answer to the challenge of crossing a scenic river was a hybrid bridge with 25 strands to a four inch diameter duct and a number of other unique combinations of styles. Also, crossing such a waterway means there are certain requirements to be met and permits based on the status of the area as a National Scenic Waterway. Added to the mix is the fact that this project is being handled by two different states and their respective departments of transportation.
