FLYING COLOURS ADDS GE, EXPANDS INTO CHINA

GE Aviation has named Peterborough, Ont.-based completion and refurbishment specialist Flying Colours an authorized line maintenance centre for its CF34-3 and CF34-8 engines powering business and regional jets. The CF34-3 engine helped to launch the regional jet era when it entered service on Bombardier's CRJ100 aircraft in 1992. Across the CF34 family, GE has delivered more than 6,000 engines, including 2,400 CGF34-8 engines in service with 79 operators of Bombardier and Embraer regional jets. The CF34-8 engine has accumulated more than 34 million flight-hours and 25 million cycles. Flying Colours can perform line maintenance inspections and routine installed engine maintenance, including removal and replacement of engines and engine components. The authorization also allows Flying Colours to support OnPoint, GE's new engine warranty program. "Flying Colours is a leading company in the conversions of the CRJ aircraft for business use," Brad Mottier, vice president and general manager of GE Aviation's business and general aviation division said.
