A sculptor tipped for the top in the world of contemporary art literally "found" the material that forms the basis for many of his works - in a hole in the road. Maurice Cit-ron has been creating sculp-tures from "found materials" for years, using anything from family memorabilia to other people's trash from skips to create each piece. He used domestic plumbing pipe to create a flexible arma-ture, but when he wanted to develop his sculptural style on a larger scale he looked for something more industrial,and found inspiration in a mains renewal programme!Maurice says: "I work in north London where there's a lot of work being done to renew the mains.
