The Latest: QSC reports that its Q-loud cloud computing subsidiary serves 600,000 industrial devices to Germany's Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem, primarily within the energy and connected buildings sectors. Implications: This is the first time that digital infrastructure and services provider QSC has quoted operational metrics for its youthful industrial IoT (IIoT) business. Q-loud was only established in November 2016, so this milestone is both a remarkable achievement for QSC and a validation of our view of Germany as one of the leading countries in our new Digital Maturity Index. As Europe's most industrialised market, we view Germany's potential for IIoT proliferation to be very attractive to device manufacturers and service/applications providers alike.
