摘要

An experimental concept which enables the fabrication of welded joints between cast iron and (85% Cu) copper alloy and cast iron and aluminium by the application of friction welding was presented. Some interlayers actively involved in the formation of these joints were used to improve the mechanical and plastic properties of the joints. The interlayers were deposited in the form of two weld overlays on cast iron bars. The first overlay contained 50% Ni, the second 99.5% Cu. As a result of the tests carried out, the joints fabricated between cast iron and copper alloy had a maximum tensile strength amounting to 191 N/mm~2 and an elongation equal to 3.9%. In the case of welded joints produced between cast iron and aluminium, these values amounted to 99 N/mm~2 and 8.7%, respectively. A welded joint of the cast iron to cast iron type in the fabrication of which the copper-containing interlayers deposited on both welded surfaces were actively involved had the highest tensile strength, reaching 204 N/mm~2, and an elongation of 9.7%.
