Distinguished Service Award 2009 - Neville Gregory

Neville Gregory joined the British Welding Research Association (BWRA), the forerunner of The Welding Institute as a member and a researcher in 1957. At BWRA his work concentrated on hard facing for wear resistance. With TWI, he worked on weldability problems of galvanized and zinc coated steels and his interests in the design of welded joints also developed. Many fabricating companies throughout the UK have benefited from Neville's advice and guid ance on welding and he worked tirelessly to make the 'Introduction to Welding and Joining Technology' Certificate Course an effective means of educating materials and engineering undergraduate stu dents in the fundamentals of welding engineering.
