摘要

Day four of our storm chasing tour started well before 6:00 a.m. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Twelve hours later, in a remote area of north-central Nebraska, we were still waiting for the big event. Thunderstorms began forming along a boundary just south of the South Dakota/Nebraska border, as we prepared to chase an impressive section that was rapidly brewing near Springfield, Nebraska. Suddenly, the grating warning tone of the NOAA weather radio sounded: "severe thunderstorm warning for Springfield!" The chase was on.
