An investigation into the smog currently choking Chinese cities has revealed how natural fog helped create killer air pollution in London in 1952. Researchers at Texas A&M University and in China assert that the toxic air enveloping Chinese metropolises can help explain the five-day "Great Smoke" that killed at least 4,000 people-perhaps three times that number-while sickening another 200,000 Londoners.
