September saw the launch of your waterborne fruit and veg delivery service from Narrowboat Farm, on the Union Canal east of Linlithgow, to market. How did the trial run go? The Veg Boat was a roaring success, helped a wee bit by stunning autumn sunshine. Despite opting for a slightly peculiar form of vegetable delivery, everything went swimmingly and it was a nice insight into how excited the farmers must have been back in the 1820s when this freight route was opened up. No more boneshaking horse and carts wrecking your perfect produce bouncing over potholes.
