The present invention relates to a method for promoting a flowering time in plants using a MADS-box protein, and plant thereby. The plant, expressing a mutant MADS-box protein which includes a MADS-box domain in which glutamine at a second spot on amino acid sequences represented by general formula I is substituted with leucine, shows promoted flowering time while maintaining growth after flowering, thereby producing flowers and seeds in a short periods and increasing productivity.
