Restoration trust welcomes rival on its patch

The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust has promised to welcome another restoration organisation working at different spots on the waterway's 52-mile route (WW October). "We hope the members of the new trust have a successful inaugural meeting and we welcome their intention to cooperate with us," a WBCT spokesperson told WW. The new Wessex Waterways Restoration Trust met for the first time on 22nd September at Bushton, near Royal Wootton Bassett, and promised not to compete with the older WBCT.
