3RD NATIONAL WATER EDUCATION CONFERENCE

The 3rd National Water Education Conference was held between 30 March and 2 April in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. An action packed couple of days, the conference provided presentations and workshops for people involved in school education, community education and community consultation from around Australia. The broad program encompassed themes of current water policies and alternative supplies, evaluation, methodology, community engagement and behaviour change. Grahame Collier from T Issues Consultancy opened the conference with his keynote address, which included a discussion on strengthening the impact of water education. Designed to provoke participants into thinking about their own education programs, Grahame posed several questions to the audience based around effectiveness and impact of education on changing community behaviours.
