As I write this column Australia is experiencing a period of political uncertainty. After a whirlwind few weeks of political campaigning, neither party has achieved a majority and must now work with the Independent MPs to form a government.rnWhat can the water sector expect from the new government? To a certain extent it is difficult to know as water policy has featured only briefly in the election campaigns of both parties. And, as we have come to expect, the Murray-Darling Basin was the focus of all discussions and debates about water.
