NWC 2010 Fellowship Project: Survey

Water authorities and proponents of recycled water schemes will be sent a postal survey in April 2010 as part of a National Water Commission Fellowship project entitled: 'Tracking exposure data for use in Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (QMRA) modelling for non-drinking recycled water use'.rnThe purpose of this survey is to identify data which may be useful in QMRA modelling. This is important as default values are currently used in Australian Guidelines for Water Recycling, and data held by water authorities and others may be more pertinent to Australian conditions and/or may validate default values specified in the guidelines. Also, in determining which data are available and their format, it will be possible to formulate case study examples about how data are best collected and reported. The survey also seeks to obtain information about the contemplated and current uses of alternative water sources and the diversity of water sources that are used. This information will assist in the identifying the most pressing data deficiencies for the formulation of a prioritised research agenda.
