The middle of last year saw the release of a document intended to help redirect the water sector in the UK towards a sustainable future. The document, Sustainable Water Management -A Future View, represented the culmination of two years' research, consultation and thought. The work on water was initiated by WRc in response to a perceived clear and important gap in the formal activity under the government-led Foresight initiative, which covers a range of sectors, including retail, automotive, construction and the built environment, and energy, as well as providing the impetus and forward thinking in technology-led areas such as biotechnology.
