Tanzania and Rwanda seek new billing and tariff systems

Two countries in eastern Africa have unveiled plans to review their water billing and tariff structures in an effort to find long-term solutions to their water financing problems, and attract private investment into their respective water sectors.rnTanzania and Rwanda have set in motion processes that would see the billing system and tariff structures revolutionised to ensure sustainable water revenue streams, and accommodate the poor who cannot pay for the water they consume.
