When Is Good Actually Bad?

Did the title of this column grab your attention? Well, relax. I don't intend to discuss any of the titillating topics we have become accustomed to from the myriad of tabloids available on the news racks. Instead of writing something that would most likely get me drummed out of Water Well Journal, I plan to discuss an impending epidemic that has, or will, affect all of us in one way or another: arrogance. The terms may be different: arrogance, superiority complex, or egomaniac, but the result is usually the same. Those of you who have been faithful readers from the beginning know I occasionally like to get on my soapbox and use my column space to divert from technical- or business-related topics. I don't know why; I really don't believe that the diatribe from one sole voice in the wilderness can make much of a difference in this world of ours, but I have to try.
