Why I Want to Work in the Ground Water Industry

I always took tap water for granted. I never really thought about where it came from, if there was a limit, or if such a common household commodity could make me sick. Because my family lived in Arizona, I was grilled as a child to conserve water. So, I always turned the water off when I brushed my teeth, but that's where my water consciousness stopped — until I studied geosciences as an undergraduate at the University of Arizona. It was there I had several courses that touched on water resources and water quality issues particular to the state. And it was there I got an introduction to the delicate situation in which Arizona finds itself regarding water resources.
