By investing in the products that encourage sustainable water use on the new Water Technology List (WTL), businesses can offset 100 percent of the cost against their taxable profits. As well as the incentive to install some of the approved technology on the WTL, which is soon-to-be-published on www.eca-water.gov.uk, any investment in eligible equipment will also deliver a further boost through the potential savings to a company's water and effluent bills from reducing its water use - if used as part of a water conservation action plan. According to Envirowise, the programme dedicated to helping UK business up its profits through minimising waste and environmental impact, manufacturing companies can easily save between 30 percent and 50 percent in water and wastewater costs through inexpensive changes to their work practices.
