AWRA: AN INTERNATIONAL WATER ORGANIZATION?

The American Water Resources Association (AWRA) was founded in 1964 as an umbrella organization for water resources professionals representing a plethora of disciplines. AWRA's founder, Sandor Csallany, an internationally known water resources professional who emigrated to the United States (U.S.) from Hungary, recognized that water resources problems were most effectively addressed by a multidisciplinary approach and that this approach was necessary not only in water resources management but also in research and education.
