SEAPLANE COURTESY MAKES FOR SEAPLANE FRIENDS

As a seaplane flight instructor at Florida Seaplanes, I teach my students not only how to operate safely on and around water, but also the importance of courtesy. Yes, courtesy. Without it we risk losing seaplane-friendly neighbors and community. Without public support, our country could become just as restricted as those in Europe or elsewhere whose laws and regulations prohibit the freedoms we love dearly. We routinely get pilots from other countries where the laws do just that. They bring their money into our country and enjoy the great privilege of water flying because they do not have this freedom. It's great for our country as we bring commerce into the USA. However, why are laws passed to prohibit our love of water flying? One reason is the lack of courtesy.
