SPAIN CELEBRATES CENTURY OF SEAPLANES

Seaplane enthusiasts held an extended splash-in in Spain last year to cele-brate that country's 100th anniversary of the first seaplane flight (in a Curtiss JN-2) and the establishment of one of the world's first seaplane bases. Both historic events occurred in Los Alcazares, a small town on the western coast of Mar Menor (little sea), Europe's largest saltwater lagoon, in the Murcia province in southeastern Spain.
